Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Silvermere Autos is a sole trader business providing mobile car diagnostics, based at Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Silvermere Autos is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us on 07830 805461.

2. The personal data we collect

We only collect what we need to book and carry out your diagnosis appointment:

  • Through the booking form (Tally): your name and contact details, your vehicle's registration, make, model and year, a description of the issue, and any photos or video you choose to add.
  • Through the calendar (Cal.com): your name, contact details, and the appointment date and time you choose.
  • If you call or text us: your phone number, and anything you tell us about the booking.
  • If you accept cookies, through the Meta Pixel: data about your visit and device, such as pages viewed, that we use to measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram advertising. We don't run any other analytics or advertising tracking on this site.

3. How we use it, and our legal basis

We use your data to arrange and carry out the appointment you've booked, to contact you about it, and to handle any refund claim under our guarantee. This is necessary to perform the contract between us.

We may also use it where necessary to comply with a legal obligation (for example, keeping records for tax purposes), or, in limited cases such as resolving a dispute or preventing fraud, where we have a legitimate interest in doing so that doesn't override your rights.

Using the Meta Pixel is different: it isn't necessary to carry out your booking, so we only turn it on with your consent, given through the cookie banner. You can withdraw that consent at any time by clearing this site's cookies and site data in your browser, which asks you again on your next visit.

4. Who we share it with

We use the following third parties to run this site and deliver the service. Each processes data under its own privacy policy, which we'd encourage you to read:

  • Tally (tally.so) – runs our booking form.
  • Cal.com (cal.com) – runs our appointment calendar.
  • Vercel (vercel.com) – hosts this website, and processes standard web server logs (including IP address) as part of that.
  • Meta Platforms, Inc. (facebook.com) – runs the Meta Pixel, only once you've accepted cookies. See our Cookie Policy for what this covers.

We don't sell your data. Data shared with Meta through the Pixel is used to measure and improve our own advertising; see Meta's Privacy Policy for how they handle data more broadly.

5. International transfers

Tally, Cal.com, Vercel and Meta are all companies based outside the UK, and your data may be processed on servers outside the UK as a result. Where that happens, those providers are responsible for ensuring an appropriate legal safeguard is in place, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or an applicable adequacy regulation. See their own privacy policies for the detail of how each handles this.

6. How long we keep it

We keep booking and diagnosis records for as long as needed to provide the service and deal with any follow-up, and to meet our own record-keeping obligations (for example, tax records are typically kept for up to 6 years, in line with HMRC requirements).

Photos or video you submit through the booking form are kept only as long as needed to complete the diagnosis and deal with any dispute about it, and are then deleted.

7. Cookies

This site does not set any cookies of its own. The booking form (Tally) and calendar (Cal.com) may set their own cookies once you accept them, purely to make those tools work. See our Cookie Policy for the full detail, including how to opt out.

8. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate data;
  • ask us to delete your data, where there's no good reason for us to keep it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data;
  • object to us using your data in certain circumstances; and
  • ask for your data in a portable format, where this applies.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us on 07830 805461. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

9. Children

This service is intended for adults arranging a diagnosis for their own vehicle. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.

10. Keeping your data secure

We take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold, but no method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
