Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15 September 2026

1. About these terms

These terms govern any diagnosis appointment booked with Silvermere Autos through this website. By submitting the booking form or confirming an appointment, you agree to these terms.

2. Who we are

Silvermere Autos is a sole trader business operating a mobile car diagnostics service, based at Unit 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, England, IP28 7DE. We cover Surrey and the surrounding area. You can reach us on 07830 805461. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Silvermere Autos, and "you" and "your" mean the customer booking an appointment.

3. The service we provide

We provide a mobile car diagnostics service. We come to a location you specify, inspect the vehicle, identify the fault, and explain it to you in plain terms.

Diagnosis only is provided as standard. We do not carry out repair work unless we agree a temporary fix with you on the spot, which is charged separately and always agreed with you first before we start it.

4. Pricing and payment

The standard diagnosis fee is £80 for most jobs. This is payable once we have identified the fault, not before.

If we need to remove parts to investigate further, we will tell you the extra cost before doing so, and this will not proceed without your agreement.

We are not currently VAT-registered, so no VAT is added to our prices.

5. The wrong-diagnosis guarantee

We guarantee our diagnosis. If it turns out to be wrong, you do not keep paying for it: you get your money back, subject to the process below.

5.1 How to make a claim

If another garage or mechanic later tells you that our diagnosis was incorrect, contact us on 07830 805461 and then provide us with a written statement from that garage setting out:

  • what exactly they say we got wrong;
  • what they say the actual issue is; and
  • any corresponding evidence (for example photographs, an invoice, or a written report).

5.2 What happens next

We will review the information you provide and respond to you within 14 days of receiving it in full.

If, acting reasonably, we agree the information shows our diagnosis was wrong, we will issue a full refund of the diagnosis fee you paid.

If, acting reasonably, we find that the information provided is incorrect, inconsistent, or does not reasonably support the claim that our diagnosis was wrong, we reserve the right to decline the refund and retain the fee paid.

This guarantee is in addition to, and does not limit, your other legal rights. If you disagree with our decision on a claim under this clause, you can still pursue the matter as described in clause 10 (Your legal rights) below, including making a claim on the basis that the diagnosis was not carried out with reasonable care and skill.

6. Cancellations, rescheduling and access to the vehicle

Please give us as much notice as you can if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment.

After you book, we will contact you to confirm the appointment and ask a few quick follow-up questions. If we cannot reach you after two attempts (calls or texts), we may cancel the booking to free the slot for someone else.

For us to carry out the diagnosis, we need easy access to the vehicle and its key at the agreed location and time. If anything changes before your appointment, please let us know as early as possible.

7. What's not included

We diagnose the fault; we do not carry out repair work as standard. Once we've told you what's wrong, you decide where the car gets fixed. Any temporary fix we offer on the spot is optional, is charged separately from the diagnosis fee, and is always agreed with you before we start it.

8. Your right to cancel (bookings made online)

Because you book through this website, UK law treats this as a contract made at a distance. This normally gives you a 14-day right to cancel the contract without giving a reason, running from the day you book.

However, appointments are often booked for dates within that 14-day period. If you ask us to carry out the diagnosis before the 14-day period ends, you are agreeing that:

  • we may begin the service before the cancellation period ends; and
  • once the diagnosis has been fully carried out, you lose your right to cancel it, and the diagnosis fee remains payable in line with clause 4.

If you cancel before we have started the diagnosis, no fee is payable. If you cancel after we have started but before we have finished, we may charge a reasonable amount for the work already carried out.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

Subject to that, to the extent permitted by law, our liability to you for losses arising from a booking is limited to the amount you paid us for that booking, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

10. Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to a service carried out with reasonable care and skill.

If we cannot resolve a complaint between us, you may wish to contact Citizens Advice or Trading Standards for guidance, or seek independent legal advice about your options, including the small claims court.

11. Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please contact us first on 07830 805461 so we can try to put it right.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in place at the time you book applies to that booking. We will post the current version on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
